The Call to Teach:

Ryan’s path towards Yoga and Meditation started out of necessity to promote a healthier territory for his imaginative mind. During adolescence he stumbled across Taoist philosophy and through meditation started feeling at home inside his own head. In his late teens he was exposed to Asana (Yoga)/Tai Chi and varying movement practices. From that point he has had a practice varying in consistency for 12 years.

Eventually being asked to teach by individuals around him, he journeyed to receive his 200-hour accreditation from Mount Madonna, home to his teacher Baba Hari Dass. Ryan then went on to apprentice that teacher training and became a Satsang member of the community. Upon his completion, he started a small studio in Creston Iowa. Some of his aspirations through teaching are to inspire a regular practice, create community, stimulate health, and encourage empathy.

Private Lesson Philosophy;

*Private lessons are not currently being offered. Contact to be put on waitlist :)

“Private lessons are all about listening. I am doing my best job as an instructor when I am not thinking over you talking, but truly, actively… listening. It is from this place that I design lessons tailor-made to you from my observations of your optimal learning patterns. Your personal goals motivate the direction we go. We will move systematically, and methodically, so you see direct growth and have a balanced reward system. Making the work we do stimulating and fun, while simultaneously providing a challenge. I believe in a scientific approach to Yoga incorporating neuroscience, biomechanics, anatomical knowledge, and narrative theory to actualize your desires. I aim to balance historical accuracy and modern interpretation. Most of my knowledge comes straight from the ancient texts of Yoga (Ex: Hatha Pradipika, Patanjali’s Sutras) I teach only what I actively do daily myself.  Regular practice. Regular practice. Regular practice.”  -Ryan
